Just the photos were taken by me - actual models were made by my wife. She was commisioned by Brown Bag Films to make a few models of Henry - the main character from their recent cartoon series - The Happy Hugglemonsters.
"Origin" is a short film by James Stacey, on which I have worked as a lighter and compositor.
While it premiered in Galway Film Festival 2011, it has been released online only recently.
I was asked to do some Making Of article - below are some slideshows showing compositing stages of the forest shots:
This one is similar, but more detailed, showing all the raw render passes used in the compositing process.
This is another retrospective post - I've done these when I was getting familiar with ArtRage.
ArtRage is a painting software, oriented towards replicating the traditional media. It mimics such paint qualities like wetness or volume, allowing for really realistic effects.
I use it most of the time, as it's also very straightforward to use. No need to spend time on set up - I can launch it and start drawing immediately - just like with pencil and paper.
That was one of my first digital paintings, done over the course of a few months really. I was into Vikings and their contacts with Slavic tribes. This scene represents their landing at the southern Baltic coast. (belonging to Poland now). But don't expect too much historical values in this illustration... :)
This is my latest drawing for the Brown Bag Films Sktech Blog. http://bbfsketch.blogspot.ie/ This is the place where people from the company I work at post their drawings. Usually subjects change fortnightly.
The latest one was The Olympics:
And here are some of the previous ones.
