"ANYA" - full version
Earlier this week, the full version of a 3D animation short film "Anya" had been released online.
"Anya" has been made as part of an online initiative promoting activity of an Irish charity called To Russia With Love, which looks after Russian orphans for last 15 years.
The short had been produced by Brown Bag Films with the large help of Infinite Studio Frameworks.
I have been involved in a number of roles oscillating around lighting, rendering, compositing and also set texturing and modelling.
More information under the video on the vimeo page.

A short film "Anya" - Trailer
Today has been released a trailer for a short film I have been involved at.
It's made mainly by people from Brown Bag Films with the cooperation of Infinite Frameworks for the Irish charity called To Russia With Love. The charity looks after Russian orphanages and orphaned children.
The goal of this short is to raise awareness and bring more attention to the Charity. Although quite short (4 min.), the film tells a story of 20 years in a life of a girl called Anya, who gets to the orphanage, when she's 3 years old.
Have a look at the trailer:

I was involved in this project as the Lead Lighter, but have been doing other bits and pieces too.
The full film will be released online around second half of April, so stay tuned.

Henry Hugglemonsters
Just the photos were taken by me - actual models were made by my wife. She was commisioned by Brown Bag Films to make a few models of Henry - the main character from their recent cartoon series - The Happy Hugglemonsters.
More photos of Henry's sculptures: Henry Hugglemonster
If you want to see previous models made by my wife - go to Grazyna Chyla - portfolio

Origin - making of
"Origin" is a short film by James Stacey, on which I have worked as a lighter and compositor.
While it premiered in Galway Film Festival 2011, it has been released online only recently.
I was asked to do some Making Of article - below are some slideshows showing compositing stages of the forest shots:
This one is similar, but more detailed, showing all the raw render passes used in the compositing process.
And this is the link to the project website, where you can watch entire short: http://originshort.blogspot.ie/

Art Rage - first attempts
This is another retrospective post - I've done these when I was getting familiar with ArtRage.
ArtRage is a painting software, oriented towards replicating the traditional media. It mimics such paint qualities like wetness or volume, allowing for really realistic effects.
I use it most of the time, as it's also very straightforward to use. No need to spend time on set up - I can launch it and start drawing immediately - just like with pencil and paper.

Viking
That was one of my first digital paintings, done over the course of a few months really. I was into Vikings and their contacts with Slavic tribes. This scene represents their landing at the southern Baltic coast. (belonging to Poland now). But don't expect too much historical values in this illustration... :)
